Pomanders are beautiful decorative items that I have recently discovered. From http://www.theidearoom.net/2011/01/tissue-rosette-kissing-balls.html I learned how to make these pomanders, which they called kissing balls. You can hang them off of the pews on the aisle and then transfer them to the chairs around the tables for reserved seats for the wedding party and close family. Then, you can use the pomanders in hurricane glasses in your home when you are married. Aren't they wonderful? Here's how I made them:
Materials:
- foam balls
- crepe paper
- sewing pins
- ribbon
Instructions:
1) Rip the crepe paper into lengths and then crinkle it up.
2) Fold a third of it down lengthwise along the entire length.
3) Begin to roll it up with the end being pinched tightly and allow the rest to be open and full.
4) Hold it all together and then pin it to the styrofoam ball.
5) Cover the ball fully and then put ribbon on the attachment on the ball.
I hope that you have as much fun with them as I did!
